Maybe the structural weaknesses of the premier league could be resolved by transferring all our bad footballers to a bad football club, then quitely winding it down.

Ahem, I give you.... Sunderland.

Right colours wrong team, must have got confused with West Ham,

I'm forever blowing bubbles.

Would have been far more appropriate.

Mind you he did get his economic tips from premiership footballers who droppped in to see him.

"Mervyn successfully steered the Bank of England through the most turbulent economic headwinds in living memory," Villa chairman Steve Hollis said.

They'll say anything.

Will they be playing him centre forward?

Can't be any worse than any of their current players.

Good idea. While we're at it, why not put Gabriel Agbonlahor in charge of the MPC? Couldn't make any worse a job of it than the current incumbents!

Gone.

It can now be revealed that their decisions were the result of a highly unpleasant exchange with Lerner. After joining Villa in March and February respectively, Bernstein and King grew increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress they were able to make. This came to a head when email communication between the pair, which included criticism of Lerner, was leaked to the US businessman. Bernstein and King were stunned by the content and tone of Lerner's email - especially lifelong Villa fan King, given he has known the American since his takeover in 2006.

Ed Balls at Norwich, Merv at Villa.

Right, that's two teams I now want to see relegated.

Looks like you will be getting your wish, Frank.

An image of King's resignation e-mail is in the link below

It's just a shame he wasn't equally decisive in dealing with the handling of the UK's economy leading to the worst UK economic crisis since records began.
