Contacting Pete Walker

Recommended Posts

Guest eight

I'd like to make contact with the 70's low budget movie maker Pete Walker. I want to ask him a question. According to various internet sources he is 76, and still not dead.

Anybody any ideas about how one would approach something like this? 192.com? The BFI? Or by some miracle do any of you lot know him?

I would imagine the best way would be to frequent various websites that focus on slasher movies and see whether anynone knows if he turns up at the slasher equivalent of comic cons.

A chap I know makes lots of scream queen figurines and he meets loads of actors / directors from 1960 slasher flicks at various events dedicated to such films.

Your ideas The British Film Institute and 192.com - or the BFI might be able to point you towards someone/some organisation who might know.

He might have done a bit of acting so he might have/have had an Equity card - even if he didn't they might still help.

There's the

in America and at least some of his movies were made with American companies.

in the UK.

His Wikipedia entry quotes a guardian article from 2005

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2005/mar/11/2

That article says that he now buys and restores cinemas, which probably makes him a company director

From his directorships he seems to have an office address at DUKES COURT 32 DUKE STREET, ST. JAMES'S, LONDON, SW1Y 6DF

So I'd send a letter there.

Thanks for all the pointers - that should be more than enough to get hold of the old geezer. As ever, the resourcefulness of HPCOT knows no bounds; we really should all be doing something productive with our lives.....

Once you've got the address, at his age, the best way to snare him will be to lay down a trail of Werthers Originals from his front door into the back of your van.

Well that presents a dilemma. Whilst he might be on Facebook I, most certainly, am not....

Why not sign up then? I'm on it and (deliberately) have zero Facebook "friends" (including siblings, we get on very well via phone calls and actually meeting up) but it is useful to join local groups in which you are interested as this is the only way they usually advertise events.

You don't have to go the full Facebook lobotomized experience of selfies, lols, and mis-spelt "inspirational" quotes.
