350K Belfast Budget ( Bt9 ? Bt6 ? Bt4 ? )

Recommended Posts

I have a NI friend coming back over from London ( early 30s, good job over in London, loads of savings built up , been asked to do same job over here on London wages etc ) . This friend will be working in city centre.

Looking to buy - budget is around 350k

BT9

I have suggested where I live ( South Belfast BT9) but inventory is low here and money doesn't go so far.

BT6

Has found a couple of properties in Downshire Road BT6 & Ravenhill Road BT6. Lovely big properties done out really well. What are the areas like ????

Ballyhackamore

I wonder if they would be better off looking in Ballyhackamore than BT6?

Any help much appreciated

Wouldn't touch the east with a barge pole. Ravenhill has some nice avenues running along it. Ravensdene and Ravenhill park are nice but very much in demand.

I'd suggest he looks soon. Not much looks to have been shifting at all during the winter.

What's wrong with anywhere round Belmont, Massey avenue, castle hill, upper newtownards road, gilnahirk if they've got that kind of money?

Re Ravenhill (BT6/BT7) the best roads are Ravenhill Park and Ardenlee Avenue (generally to half way down this street, ie Ravenhill road end rather than creagh road end). With your friends budget and age taken into consideration I would also look at North Parade, South Parade, Ravensdene, St Jude's Avenue, Rosetta Park, St Johns. I probably wouldn't be looking at downshire, it's ok but not as nice in my view.

I should add Ravenhill is a very nice place to live. Young professionals, families, vibrant, a real community feel. People are also down to earth. You will find a mixture of professional people here, barristers, solicitors, film directors, chief execs, actors, doctors. It's an interesting place to live.
