Guardian : 39 Percent Of Tory Mps Are Btl Landlords

Recommended Posts

Number of MP landlords has risen by a quarter since last parliament

According to Guardian research, almost a third of MPs are now letting out their houses or flats, with 196 declaring rental income on the official register of interests this year. The majority of those are earning more than £10,000 a year from the property, topping up their basic MP’s annual salary of £67,060.

The Conservative party has the highest number of landlord MPs at 128, meaning 39% of Tory MPs are landlords, compared with 26% of Scottish National party MPs and 22% from Labour.

Ah but how many houses do the own each compared to Labour?

Fewer Lab MPs own BTL but those that do own a lot more.

Meacher anyone?

I wish MPs would just give each other 10 houses and a million on expenses each but just stop screwing the rest of us over.

I've seen some numbers.

There maybe slightly more COn MPs ho have a BTL but for total greed and buying loads then its Lab MPs.

Leverage. The Tory LLs with just one or two prowperdees may be able to easily weather a downturn (they may even own them outright), the LLs with many will not.

I wonder how leveraged the Blairs are? :)
