He had provided false details on mortgage applications, including wages and employment details, registered the properties in other people’s names and obtained the deposits from other members of the group, Manchester Crown Court was told.

A good barometer of the sort of people you're likely to encounter in that particular business IMO.

Probably very common...London property market doubles up as a money laundering conduit IIRC.

I've been of the opinion for a while that the black economy here is at least as big as the real one, probably bigger.
