Mail Trying To Stem The London Exodus

Recommended Posts

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3379326/Heartbreak-giving-country-dream-moving-city-one-woman-devastated-moving-London-stay-healthy.html

So the rural dream didn't work out after 13 years, time to move back to London and keep house prices in London up!!!!

Why not get a slightly lower paid and less stressful job outside London and cut the commute that way?

The reality is all the traffic is going the other way. London has been hollowed and continues to hollow out.

It seems to tick all the boxes of the Millard School of Writing and Lifestyle Living.

Nice little fee earner and advert for the house.

The article is written by her & about her ..... surely that needs to be raised with the press complaints commission? Its self promotion with the aim of selling a property!

Am I the only one thinking that the biggest cause of stress in her life is probably the financial pressure of living a "keep up with the jones's" lifestyle they can't really afford??

So unless they have hefty savings etc or anticipating a hefty mortgage it's going to be something like a 1 bed flat in London. Not much of a stress reduction.

Maybe they're cashing in the pensions.

What a load of tosh........you don't move out of London to spend four hours every day travelling back and forth, what is the point of having a house you can't spend time living in.......you move out for the quality of life, chill, space and fresh air, people meeting others that have a smile on their faces and are not rushing around like blue ar*e flys.......might as well live in a bedsit in the city or sleep in the office and get a lie in everyday for what you gain from it..... ;)

Thats a long advert for a house.

That is a long advert for a house, as a headline article, on a day when thousands of Brits are living in flooded homes. It comes across as incredibly smug and rubbing people's noses in it.

This is why the government doesn't want to cut housing benefit (LHA). If that happens there would be so few people able to afford to live in London. London housing is propped up by LHA and housing benefit. Cut that and "demand" for London housing collapses.

Would like to know the stats on how many who own in London actually live in London....I would hazard a guess the numbers are falling.....invest for growth and income in London live in paradise.;)

I thought education was freely available now?

Seems many people are trying to provide everything for their kids and themselves apart from the thing that matters. Still the kudos from professional jobs and independent schools makes it all worthwhile. Many can even buy the latest stuff too.

It's a governments wet dream. Earn and spend....tax batteries. And everyone is falling for it.

Let me see if prioritising helps;

1) health

2) time with family/friends

3) shelter and basic needs

4) - 57) individual can select

58) money from job

59) status from job.

Still nice gaff and a great free advert.

No photos of anything above the ground floor. Why would that be?

Either full of mould, very old decor, or brim full of bondage equipment

There are photos of one bedroom and the bathroom here http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html?prop=25659989&sale=27993941&country=england

Edit: Damn, why don't links work for me any more?

OK, try going to Rightmove Sold House Prices, and start typing "Winterpit Lane" into the search box. The lane in Mannings Heath will come up. Click search then scroll down to "Quarries Cottage" and click on it. Seven photos inc. one bedroom and bathroom.
