Countries Banning Christmas

Recommended Posts

There seems to be a recurring theme here over the last 2 days of Christmas celebrations being banned in several countries so far, with Brunei implementing up to 5 years imprisonment as a punishment. I don't know what to make of it?

500,000 Somalis, at least, live in the UK. Quite an active trade in sending their girls back to Somalia to get their genitals mutilated. Loads of people still get their UK benefits even when they return to Somalia for extrended periods.

We are at war - not against Somalis or Somalia per se - but against the champions of ignorance and bigotry throughout the muslim world. They are many. They are amongst us.

I'd just ban all religions.

You'd kind of hope that it won't be many more generations until people stop believing in sky fairies of their own accord/intelligence.

I guess it's very deeply programmed for some.

Better just target ignorance and stupidity full stop and thus deal with all our home-grown morons too.

Yes, religion is hardly the source of all ills in the world, but getting rid would be a great start. Pretty much a pipedream though so freedom to practice any religious belief providing it is done without state support is a good start.

Banning Christmas for those who want to practice it is a significant step backwards.

So, you want all of us to follow the 'No Religion' religion?

I presume either the Sultan will be banned from entering this country for committing a 'hate crime' or when he gets here, some clever lawyer will have him arrested like Pinochet for religious discimination.

Ooh, that is a good point. I wouldn't hold your breath.

It's called atheism/humanism.

Personally, I don't care what people follow - but there's no denying that nearly all religions create a sense of other and special snowflakeism among their followers - and that's what seems to create much of the conflict. See also many genuinely wrong and sometimes dangerous beliefs about the nature of the world and our relationship with it.

Richard Dawkins is the atheist god. Worship him, buy his books, quote them, live by them, wear a big placard with his picture on and walk up and down the High Street handing out leaflets to convert people to atheism, maybe set up an atheist state in Islington.

fixed.

Materialism can be just as dangerous as spirituality, if one is of fanatical predisposition.

Interestingly, the Christian message is that we're all sinners regardless of how hard we're trying not to be. So, at least according to their founder, Christians must not view themselves as 'special' as they're never permitted to judge others.

The left must be called out on their lack of moral universality. I'm no christian, I have no problem completely ignoring christmas. but for some reason I can imagine Corbyn and most the left pushing a 'winterval' or 'happy holidays' theme (fine) but making sure they wish everyone a happy Hajj, Ramadan, Hannukah etc.

Principles should be applied to everyone or no one. They know hundreds of thousands suffer FGM and do nothing. I sometimes wonder if Rotherham would have even come out had Labour won in 2010.

The moral universality was the original leftist approach.

However, they've since decided to use some religions to crush the Christian order of values.

Just like one uses fire to clear a patch of land for future harvest.

They use these alien religions as tools hence they protect them at the moment.

What about secularism? is that a way forward?

I think France adopted that, in the UK that would probably mean not having any bishops etc in the House of Lords.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/12036287/Britain-is-no-longer-a-Christian-country-and-should-stop-acting-as-if-it-is-says-judge.html

Britain is no longer a Christian country and should stop acting as if it is, a major inquiry into the place of religion in modern society has concluded, provoking a furious backlash from ministers and the Church of England.

A two-year commission, chaired by the former senior judge Baroness Butler-Sloss and involving leading religious leaders from all faiths, calls for public life in Britain to be systematically de-Christianised.

It says that the decline of churchgoing and the rise of Islam and other faiths mean a "new settlement" is needed for religion in the UK, giving more official influence to non-religious voices and those of non-Christian faiths.

<SNIP>

and suggests that the compulsory daily act of worship in school assemblies should be abolished and replaced with a "time for reflection".

The report backs moves cut the number of Church of England bishops in the Lords and give places to imams, rabbis and other non-other non-Christian clerics as well as evangelical pastors.

Meanwhile the coronation service for the next monarch should be overhauled to include other faiths, the report adds.

I sometimes think they are in awe of the totalitarian nature of Islam, its prescriptions as a legal system as well as a personal belief one. Part of me thinks they want to use it as a 'trojan horse' to get everyone to submit to 'the order' (submission being its translation) and then, when we are all muslims, ensure top socialists are installed as Imams, clerics and so forth to forge an 'islamic socialism'. I think they are insane to think they can control such a radicalizing ideology, and can only ascribe such a viewpoint to the arrogance they may have accumulated by so comprehensively filling the media, educational, government, and in many cases, large corporations, with their people.

Interesting. In some ways it is similar to Communism isn't it? An elite at the top pretending that everyone is equal but ultimately controlling everyone's actions and thoughts through intimidation, fear and extreme violence. If you are not one of us you will be enslaved, imprisoned or murdered.
