Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle

This was on BBC4 a couple of days ago - waiting on our PVR box to watch

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in concert in Arizona on The River tour of 1980, featuring rock 'n' roll anthems such as Hungry Heart and Cadillac Ranch from that album.

The River was when he lost me as it were. I like the first four albums but apart from the title track, not much on it grabs me. That said, I'd go and see him if I got the chance. His live performances are renown.

Edit: The first 3 tracks inthe vid are the best ones from The River imo but then at 46 mins you get the epic Jungleland from Born To Run :)

I know our musical tastes differ and you know him better than I but I find myself agreeing. Just watched it.

I have a soft spot for "Hungry Heart" - evocative story telling a la RLJ, and he comes to life with that one. Maybe it has personal meaning but he and the saxophonist are having a blast.

The guitarist who on that one seemed a bit disinterested and stoned wakes up for Jungleland and it all comes together. Nice job.

Well. I don't know what went wrong, probably when ntb posted a list of power tools.

If you read the OP, you should see that it is a satire on the downfall of a BTL LL, not a serious list of my favourites.

I saw him live twice, in the late 80s and early 90s, was well worth it, very memorable experiences

I'm not sure whether he has the same energy nowadays as he had back then though.

Any conractor turning-up and trying to get any of those items past the security-hut at Black and Decker in Spennymoor would face major repercussions...!

The sign read: Attention All Contractors - Only Black and Decker power-tools are allowed on this site.

And it was strictly adhered to...

XYY

I think there was a time when only square steering wheels were allowed in the car park at Longbridge...

I used to be in IT. Then I had an Office Space moment, quit and retired. Eventually since I enjoy it, I went self employed doing manly things for people in my spare time.
