Stop The War - Not Quite A 'ronseal' Org

Recommended Posts

Its very hard to separate STW and Corbyn.

I could accept STW if they were a Quakerish anti-violence/war movement.

But they are nuts.

Do you know when you get rightwing press about the 'left hating the west'.

STW is what they mean.

I mean FFS they supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Here's something thats disappeared from their website:

Time to stop the internet caching documents fro a year ago.

Yes, I'm a lefty who doesn't hate the west myself and I agree. If you are going under the banner of Stop the War, you either have to be specific or be against all wars (my preference - and I suspect that of many in the movement).

Still even morons should be able to have their say in my view.

I like the Quakers! This has more of a 1984 feel.

It's weird how you never see any STW placards which say "Russia stop bombing Syria" or "Russia, hands off Ukraine" etc. They are very quiet when Russians kill Syrians.

They also wouldn't be bothered about stopping any wars which cause American/British/French/German/Israeli civilian casualties. In those instances the war is their fault and they deserve it (as was their reaction to the Paris bombings) much like a rape victim presumably deserved it by being "provocative".
