Halifax November Index - A Fall!

Recommended Posts

9% yay! So all those ads on the radio of the gov giving you 3k after three years if you save with them are pointless. As the average house is going up three times this a year.

Yep. A £3k monthly swing in house prices is certainly not unusual in recent years - either rising or falling!

The only bit that is relevant: Annual change +9.0%

A 0.2% fall is basically irrelevant.

I wish it was -9%!!!

what's relevant is that outside London it's boom time, these figures have possibly been driven negative by one region falling off a cliff.

I suspect that region would be London.

that would be SIGNIFICANT.

London is driving this whole sorry mess.

Still, a headline drop is good for negative sentiment.

Still, a headline drop is good for negative sentiment.

Except they've played up the positive quarterly figure. If that's negative too, then they focus on the positive annual figure... I think at some point during the falls in 2012/13, they talked about growth over the last five years.
