erranta
Heads up! Wonder what the 'going rate' is for commuting up there?? BEST TEMP'S JOB EVER? NOT FOR THE TAXPAYERS! Council tax payers in Erewash will have to pay £1,100 A DAY for a temporary chief executive to steer the authority. Mr Field, who is chief executive of Bedford Borough Council, will work an average of two days a week in Erewash, but the council will have to pay £1,100 for each day to Bedford for his services." From the article: Mr Rice was suspended in September after being criticised by the Audit Commission for using too many consultants. The report revealed £423,266 had been spent on consultants and agency staff. Presumably they are angry because the money was wasted on outside consultants rather than wasted on council employees.
