Boss Of Troubled Steel Firm Found Dead

Recommended Posts

Caparo went into administration last month after it was hit by collapsing steel prices and the strong pound.

The strong pound might have been a factor but collapsing steel prices less so (unless they bought their entire stock a good while ago to some extent they would have gained from it) as Caparo apparently didn't make steel just made product from it (unlike Redcar steel that had the blast furnaces).

The global economy in recession (including the UK) for their product would be a major factor but they never like to be explicit about that sort of stuff.

Pretty sad actually, no one would have wanted him to react like that.

I suspect a lot of it is to do with the fact he took over his dad's business which then failed. None owning CEO's, who have driven very well established companies into the growned hardly looked like they cared (i.e. RBS, Marconi, HBOS, Rover etc. etc.)
