London Is Affordable People Just Need To Travel More

*Bloody hell scremers snap that up, looks ace.

Also the means that those who whine about unaffordable with a decent commute are not looking hard enough or not willing to compromise.*

Looks horid to me, but anyway if it goes for between the guide that's 245k so what you'd have to be on at least 60k to afford it. Then drive each day to the station, pay for parking and 4.3k of taxable income on train fares a year. May just about be possible to do and stay sane if you work near Liverpool street and do normal hours. Still seems like a very miserable life to me.

But people just need to keep lowering their expectations.

Wrong side of the M25 (1h43m to central London). Though if it wasn't for the greenbelt (and stupid loans), most people could afford a house like that.

It's not London. Trains from Harlow Mill (or Town) are awful. One every hour, the last time I looked. I was looking at Harlow as a possible moving location a couple of years ago and I can't believe how much the area as gone up in price since then. That house does indeed look like a good one for Harlow, although the area is still a dump! And at 230k, its hardly a cheap option.

Anything that tries to encourage more travelling is completely barking up the wrong tree anyway. Increased centralisation and expecting people to travel for it, with everywhere else just being dormitories, is madness no matter what monstrosities get built to make it more practical (unless you're the type of person who thinks that economic efficiency is the only thing that matters in life).
