dgul
I wonder if some one has grafted on a branch from another tree. That would be female to male - As this one was male to female it is more likely it had a strategic branch lopped off.

MrPin
Most plants are both sexes at once. Holly comes in male and female! So if you don't want children to eat the berries, you can get a male one. But I'm not sure I approve of children geting up to that!

Monoescious are things like hazel. It's things plants do to stop self-ferilisation. Along with protandry, protogyny and self-incompatability (apples need another variety), and heterotstyly. The Masked Tulip
Some of these would-be sex-change MTFs could do with a bit of wood from this tree inserted carefully into them

I had an O level in boilagy, so I could cook ducks different from penguins! I never went on the Antarctical Survey in the end, after I found out there was no bar! I never went on the Antarctical Survey in the end, after I found out there was no bar! :-) I too have an o level in biology but self-taught so I only did the bits I needed to pass the exam. I wouldn't go either if there wasn't a bar.
