I kid you not, but the BBC are spending time with this new research.

Some foreign "skin specialist" actually said that the more moles you have on your right arm, increased the risk of you having more moles on the rest of your body.

and the more moles you have, the more likely you are to get skin cancer.

amazing.

Based on this amazing observation, I believe I must have been born with skin cancer.

Had one on my right arm, they cut it out for me.

No sign of cancer though...

Btw, it was a mole with two shades of brown.

Could be some sort of cactus from the Twighlight Zone?

Obviously, what they have done is establish that a statistically significant correlation exists between the number of moles on your right arm and the rest of your body. This is useful as the Doctor now only needs to count the moles on the arm to know how moley you are and so whether he should look at the rest of the body.

That's all.

The rest of the BBC interview was nothing to do with the study, but rather about mole incidence and cancer risk to explain the usefulness of the study.

These days I don't take any chances with the sun and use factor 50 throughout the year. Might sound a bit extreme but when you walk eighty miles a week you end up looking like a tramp in no time with swarthy skin, well I probably look like a tramp anyway. I won't take too much notice of the 85 year old woman at my mother in laws nursing home that said last night I was absolutely beautiful.

I think I probably did untold damage to my skin in the eighties when I used to get burnt to Kingdom come, and it never forgets apparently.

Moles on right arm...two and some very feint ones too, do they count?.

Yes, that's all and it does, despite hating the phrase, "raise awareness".

Funnily enough the day before I had been thinking that I'd not seen any mole hills for ages and wondered if they had some kind of disease, so every time this came on the radio I pictured this:

And QI has gloomily informed me that this mole, and all the thers you see pictured on mole hills, is dead.
