Didn't Anyone See It Coming....

What a total nonsense. Too many claim and award victimhood to those say on trillions of pounds of equity.

A big-boy done it and ran away.

You have to be a pretty senior banker to have benefitted as much from the Potempkin economy as a middle-class London home owner, but no-one wants to talk about that.

You can still rise from the Proles to the outer/inner party - you just need to be in technology and standing on the shoulders of the prols. That's kind of the way its always worked though.

Count, it's just too basic, needs a few more levels, with younger renter-savers right at the bottom.

Proles aren't those oldies hogging 4 bed homes worth £1m+ in North London.

Plenty of people with engineering degrees (civil, mechanical) failing to do that. Also recent med grads aren't having a great time.

Accidental timing has a lot to do with it.

Hmm, Not sure I want to be with them standing on the backs of the rest. Read Dr Suess, Yurtle the Turtle https://youtu.be/QJC7dRGQgEI

Remember, when this comes tumbling down, we're likely to eat the rich! Mwahhahahah!

This kinda predicts it as a natural outcome:

<a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zipf"href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zipf" s_law"="">As does Pareto's law of distribution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_distribution

A Pareto distribution, or a lognormal distribution? A lognormal income distribution would consign vastly fewer people to relative poverty.

The physicist Maury Osborne was the first to observe that stock market prices conform to a lognormal distribution and are not normally distributed as Bachelier had proposed. Arguably the most profound insight in 20th century economics - Black and Scholes used it as the foundation of their revolutionary option pricing model.

Nice, thanks, looks like something interesting to look into.

Renaming the Minimum Wage as a Living Wage is pretty Orwellian!

using it to push up prices making the recipients poorer, the rich richer and telling everyone they are better off is pretty sick, if that's the intention

Have to agree everybody claims to be a victim these days, the truth is at least half the population have done alright not least because of the equity printed on their properties or older people enjoying extended unfunded retirement packages etc. etc.Even Polly Toynbee thinks she is a victim because she is only worth a few million so that makes her one of us and there are bankers that might be worth a bit more, how dare they be worth more than she is.

S**t even Emma Thompson thinks she is one of the Proles and should be exempt from income tax until HSBC pay their dues.

I think this works all the way through the scale. Sometimes I think we should be grateful we are born in a developed nation etc we are in theory in the richest 5% on the plane or whatever, but all we do is moan about those richer than us. Then you see millionaire footballers moaning they're getting paid less than the multi millionaire footballers. youve got the politicians rinsing their expenses because they don't feel they get paid enough, then the guys at the very very top aren't happy unless they are the richest. Maybe no one on the plane feels rich. Maybe that is the whole point of money, keeps folk chasing something that doesn't exist.

This was true, especially post WW2 until 1979. However, sometime, a little before 1980, the Elites (probably at the Bilderberg) decided to enrich the 1% at the expense of impoverishing the rest. They were probably seething with jealousy and resentment at their ex-school/Sandhurst friends turned obscenely wealthy dictators

Unable to go the autocratic route they took whole swathes of Orwell's book and turned it into a manual for the Elites to corrupt Western Governments and big business. They are more generally known as the 'neo-conservative/liberals'.
