Frank Hovis
I struggled to come up with a title for this. What it isn't is one-hit wonders or your favourite songs. I means songs that sound like nothing else, real one-offs. A good example is Queen - Bohemain Rhapsody - where did that come from? I'd also say Band on the Run - Wings and Life's been Good - Joe Walsh. Unusual songs by good songwriters who decide to take a real gamble with something off-the-wall. Any others? Frank Hovis
No, no and yes. "Nineteen" crossed my mind after I'd posted it. It had subsequent imitators but that came out of nowhere.

DTMark
One of the earliest Chicago house tracks, quite influential. I've got the 12" of this

SNACR
Was going to say good call but, thinking about it, I think it sounds like quite a bit of eighties output like One Night in Bangkok, Sabrina Boys, Big in Japan etc.
SNACR
This has a criminally low number of views compared to something by Taylor Swift

SNACR
Jimmy Webb seemed to be like a one man Bohemian Rhapsody type track machine. And no-one else has come close to Macarthur Park, for cautioning in such an epic way, the hazards of leaving baked goods lying around in inclement weather. DTMark
Immediately springs to mind.. One of my all time favourite films. Saw it a couple of months ago, still a lot of fun.

frozen_out
I'm not sure some of this fits the bill, Bu that's just me. My Nominations: 1. Smells like teen spirit 2. It takes a muscle (The original not the Mia version) Especially 2. Great tune, very unusual, no one I talk to seems to have ever heard it.
frozen_out
Good pick, but the original video is much mere sinister (can't paste the link for some reason)
