Some Rates Are Going Up...

Recommended Posts

Shawbrook bank just released a 2 year bond at 2.3%, up from 2.2%.

there has been a few rises recently from them.

such rates have been rare recently.

I guess these rises are being past on to their borrowers. about bloody time.

given inflation is 1% my conclusion is, something is happening.

Roger Bootle reckons fears over China's market are overblown, and continues to forecast higher real interest rates in the next few years, implicitly dismissing debt deflation...

Fed rates hike being pushed forward now with the Chinese meltdown going on. As far as MPC is concerned, well, we are out of the deflation-woods one month, but would not stake my money on a rate hike too soon. Besides, when remortgaging 3 years down the line from now on, rates are likely to be higher by 100-150 bp vis-a-vis current spot rates I reckon.
