Landlord Wants To Sell Help!

Recommended Posts

Been renting property for last 5 years, and landlord approached us to ask if we wanted to buy. The original price agreed feb'15 has gone up by 10k. Still cheaper than what you could get on open market. However, can't afford the extra 10k. Just about scrape the original price. Now he's suggesting that either way, he and his partner now wish to move the house on. So either buy it or get out. Rents in area about £200 a month more, not great condition. And not much worth considering to buy. Any advice? I'm tempted to put flyers through doors on properties that haven't sold in area and even bombard agents with offers to see what happens.

I'd move somewhere where your earnings are more closely aligned to the cost of living. I live in the South East for the simple reason that my Salary is a multiple of what I was earning in my Northern homeland. If I became unable to command the salary I do, I'd move in a heart beat.
