interestrateripoff
Turkey on brink of civil war: Two-year ceasefire nears collapse as rise of ISIS State sparks tit-for-tat attacks between Turkish forces and Kurdish rebels Clashes between the Turkish authorities and members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have continued today with a devastating car bomb striking a Turkish military vehicle. Somewhere else UK holiday makers will end up having to be evacuated from? The Turkish military could be attacked by IS and blame the PKK for settling other political scores? How unstable is Turkey in reality?
The Masked Tulip
Been coming for a while. The military are secular and, thanks to the Yanks, have been armed to the teeth with aircraft, tanks, latest kit, etc, etc. The government has been becoming more and more fundamentalist Islamic - and loads of journalists have been flung in jail. The military used to be secular but I have no idea how true that is now.
1888
They have to justify military action, they need a reason or an excuse to avoid the legalities of war crimes. Natos attack one member attacks all gives a green light for involvement in Syria/Kurdistan should Turkey be attacked. If Turkey has to attack itself to get the go ahead , it will. Have Isis infiltrated Lebanon yet?
MarkG
Don't worry. They'll probably still be allowed into the EU.
