'People who say their heart is with Corbyn, get a transplant': Blair launches devastating attack on leftwinger who is on course to be Labour leader

In a speech in central London as a poll put leftwinger Jeremy Corbyn ahead in the leadership race, the three-times election winner told Labour: 'Don't for heaven's sake move back.'

A seal of approval for Corbyn, this coming from the man who ultimately destroyed Labour.

Blair vs Corbyn. The crafty and devious con-man vs the well-meaning halfwit.

I think the latter is less damaging. Though it's also a very provisional assessment based on little actual knowledge.

Prescott on the Today programme this morning talked a surprising amount of sense. I've heard said that his role in Blair-Brown was to bang their heads together and keep them from each others' throats, and generally keep the peace. There was an element of the voice of reason in his suggestion that the intemperate language flying around might not be helpful.

I wonder if Corbyn has become - like militant Islam - one of those things that grows stronger the harder you try to suppress it?
