20% Of Mps Are Landlords

Recommended Posts

But 24dash has missed the main question

How many landlord MPs let a property to another MP?

I can envisage one way around the expenses changes was simply for one MP to rent his London house to another and vice versa

How many instances of that happening are there do you think?

It'd be interesting to know, besides how many each is renting out, how much of their rental income is derived from the taxpayer via housing benefit.

Same goes for all councillors and council officials with BTLs. Always good to know where each particular vested interest lies, especially when it comes to righteous indignation over the cutting of any benefits.

When Chris Huhne was MP, we used to call him "Nine Homes Huhne". I'm not sure if he actually owned 9 homes, but clearly the meme was based on something.

lots of high earners inc MPs own BTLs...often in their own names, their spouses/partners name, kids names, dogs name.....so it goes on.....name that tune in one. ;)
