Bbc Ramp Of The Day?

Recommended Posts

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-33478400

A tiny socialist party which believes in the abolition of money is sitting on a £1.3m cash and property pile, it has emerged.

The Socialist Party of Great Britain, which has 300 members, has cash reserves of £452,250 and property worth £900,000, its latest accounts say.
The party, which was founded in 1904 - making it one of the oldest in the UK - is based in Clapham High Street.
It bought the South London shop premises in 1951 for about £3,000.
But it has benefited from the boom in the capital's property prices, with the value of its assets increasing by £400,000 in a single year, according to its accounts

Apologies if already posted. I have no idea why this article was written. It seems some of the members want to cash-in on the boom. They draw the line at stock market investing though. :)

TBH I don't see how this is 'ramping'. They are simply reporting the facts of a socialist organisation sitting on substantial assets and benefiting from an increase in their value.

Does strike me that £3000 was quite a lot for shop premises even in 1951. Clapham was not exactly smart or sought-after then.

Absolutely no need to mention this property value. The inference is piss-poor...that even good old Socialists are happy with HPI.

They should have chosen Buck Palace and HM's assorted properties bought for a pittance or seized by force centuries ago to ram home their point.

This was on the main BBC Scotland news. Anyone paying a licence fee is nuts.

And as for BBC ramp of the day ? Homes under the hammer. Everyday. Even Saturday and Sunday. Oh - and its now on twice every day between BBC1 and BBC2 mon-fri.

So that's 12 solid hours of ramping per week.
