Bloke on trying to raise money for a "group property funding" company he values at £20 million.

Interesting aspect - the almost complete disgust at the idea that "property investing" is a win win situation and nothing can go wrong.

Quite surprised to be honest. Refreshing.

Seems you can 'watch live' and click 'Restart from the beginning' (that option flicked up after a few moments, resting cursor on the video area).

No; closely resembles that guy; but he's just given his name... recall him from this recent thread. Seems to have been riding higher in recent times; checked that site a few times.

I would agree it seems quite "toppy" - except you would expect the Dragons to all be gagging for it if it were so ? No ?

Nah. These are a bunch of self made multi millionaires who did it without investing in property as a business (I'm sure a lot own a few houses to rent as a sideline, but they know that's just asset allocation in their overall wealth) so i tend to the belief they are not thick.

How you migjt feel about their exploitation of consumerism and chinese labour might put them in the 'nasty' basket, but they aren't spivs.

My mate who doesn't share my HPC fervour (but is still a renter) whatsapped me saying this was car crash TV. Message getting out there I reckon.

Watched this last night, IIRC Deborah Meadon told him the market isn't exactly strong at the minute and put up her hand as if to say 'don't try to tell me otherwise'.

Had to laugh at the new lady dragon telling him it was the most 'offensive pitch' she'd ever heard - wasn't it the first programme she's been on?!

I thought the same at the time but it appears she's a bit of a player in the business world and invests in other things as well. So the comment might have meant 'in general' rather than after two pitches in Dragon's Den!

Maybe, although I hadn't heard of her before. I'm not really sure what her accumen is; she appears to have bought out some Indian restaurants and flipped them for a profit.

I really like the Moonpig guy - direct, honest, intelligent and seems astute. He's, in my experience, what most successful businessmen are actually like in real life, not some media-derived caricature that we often see.

On a related point, not convinced by Theo Paphitis 2.0 yet.

Apparently there's soon to be a pitch by someone with a Kiwi shoe polish kit doing up shoes in Picaddily Circus and offering investment advice. Franchises for sale.

Patent pending - it might be soon the only opportunity left in the UK.

I doubt that the applicants are necessarily broadcast in the order they appear to the Dragons. Editors will want to make the programmes interesting, which will only happen post production. For example, if 4 applicants all got funding in one show it wouldn't be too dynamic.

So, she may well have heard other 'pitches'.

The thing that pissed them off the most was how arrogant he was. Typical BTL spiv know-it-all.

He was a complete tw*t but I had to laugh at the fact that the 'Dragons' were annoyed he already 'had another offer', the program is all about screwing people down in front of not only 5 of these 'dragons' but also knowing they are being filmed, f*ck em, if the fact someone else is interested good for them

I doubt it though.....

I had a look at the guy's Twitter feed after the programme went out and his answer to everything was, "It's definitely an option." Only in the same sense that Fergus Wilson selling his entire portfolio to a Russian oligarch is an option.
