I would always be a bit fearful about buying prime property. When you get into that bracket the value becomes even more a matter of an opinion and it shows how much the unwary can overpay.

I think that;s now true of anything over £500K.

There's a lot of money to be lost on property right now.

To all those who bought property in the £1M+ category and facing big losses, here's some free advice: keep your cash in the bank. It'll earn a good 1% above inflation. Thank me later.

It's probably the Chinese backing out of buying mansions and queuing up to buy Fergus's portfolio of Ashford two up two downs instead

Im hearing lots of sales in the £800 to 1m area are with a £150k deposit the rest on loan this is SE London,these are the same edjaats that drive 60K range rovers on tick,they buy then have a party telling their friends "you simply have to look around our new house"(that we only have a pissy stake in the rest is bank owned)!!!!!!!!!!!

Let em burn, I cant wait

Looks like it was bought in 2001 for £660,000

If we hadn't had bailouts/Global QE/0.5% for years.... that house would have been back to £100,000 value (imo). Thankfully the victims were protected.

And probably gets a lovely view and sound of the odd Airbus / Boeing when lounging in the garden , judging by it's proximity to Stansted.
