Single Issue Posters

Recommended Posts

I was going to put trolls but that's not correct, some of them could be ok and they (can) post reasoned stuff but only ever on one issue and from one viewpoint. I've seen them on other forums but we seem to have a steady run of them here.

Off the top of my head, apologies for any names I get wrong and feel free to add:

  • Scottish Independence - Cyber Nat - the most recent that had me reaching for my ignore button
  • Global warming (it's real - panic!) - snowflux & fulffy666
  • Iran is really good you know - Asheron
  • Muslims are all peaceful really and it's all the west's fault - Leroast
  • Look at all the pretty coloured fonts and symbolism of names - Erranta
  • Buy gold, sell your granny and buy gold, buy it now - Errol, DiggerUK

I'm dubious of Venger with his total recall database of all posts ever made. Don't get into debate with him or he'll dig up something you posted in 1997.

What happened to Erranta, did he run off on a round the world motorbike ride with Ken or end up in a chippy in Manchester?

I just wonder at the wonder that is Nuggets.

I remember posting something on the main forum once. Somebody replied saying, well that's OK for you to say, you only paid £30K for your house. And that is true and I did mention in passing - years ago. So it seems some posters literally do have a file on you.

Oh and our local Conservative and Unionist Association member....Goat.

Come off it mate, I might've been a bit more interested in the politics side of things recently but the vast majority of my first 5,000 posts were HPI related, especially the ones from the 18 months before you even turned up on this forum.

In fact you're getting so repetetive in that accusation you've probably got more posts about me than I have about the conservatives.

I think we should add 'ccc: all burds are mental' to the list, to be fair ccc does post other comments about burds as well!

I reckon about 95% are mental to be fair :)

Chumpusrex does not exist. He is the internet. Somewhere along the line it became self aware and spontaneously became conscious.

Makes as much sense as anything I come up with.

If he is 'the internet'...I hope he's discrete or very forgetful... ;)

I thank you for a nice compliment!

Well it's an interesting topic. I believe Mr Rex is actually a real doctor, and not posting from a mental home like the rest of us.

I do remember lying to a lady at a party and I told her I was a psychologist, which I am not! I lied. I told her I used to deal wilth children's psychology, but now I now just specialise in monomania. In fact it's the only field I work in now. I'm not interested in anything else but monomania. I find it fascinating that people focus around one subject! Her face went pale, but our lady host in the kitchen was pissing herself laughing, because she knew me.

It's not really your ONLY topic of conversation, is it?

I think we need more ukulele threads.

I've played guitar for some years, before you lot here got me interested in ukules!

I have one ukulele, and it is concert size, as mr Council recommended. I don't think I could cope with those tiddly ones.

Are you a "single issue poster".?

Huh, "Everything is crap - me" isn't on the list.

I like a lot of your posts because I think overall everything about life is getting crappier so you're not alone. Thankfully I live in D&G South West Scotland which gets ignored a lot by tourists. Suits me fine because it's not over populated either and I can very often enjoy lovely places and nature in peace. Long may it continue :)

Difficult to reason with those who hold such strong convictions in narrow fields. Have to add that Goat often makes very good and well reasoned points but they are always from a foundation of certain and deeply held views but with little expectation of a two way give and take of ideas.

Have to admit I skim read your last post and didn't spot this. Have given it some considerable thought and will think further before replying.

Nuggets is God.

Certainly appears to be a Gentleman, and there are many here, even the women! When the next century comes, we shall invent a word for those women too!:D

A place I've never been to and really should, it looks like it ticks a lot of my boxes although that would make me one of those tourists.

I think I'm like that, though. "Bloody minded". Actually I'm not comparing myself with 'Goat', I've barely read his stuff and I don't bother even looking at the main forum any more.

I often tend to reflect on things later. Occasionally I'll start something asking a question, I won't respond immediately, but I'll go back and review it over again later on (the life experiences one is an example of that). In that manner, I have a retrospective healthy respect for 'Injin' and 'Traktion'. I didn't reach the same conclusions but I welcome the posts.
