Here's A Cracker...400 Quid A Month...to Live In A Kitchen

Recommended Posts

I'll give the Daily Mail some credit. At least they are featuring these stupid homes refuges on their site/in their rag to highlight the housing problem. :)

So the other sharers in the house have carte blanche to use the kitchen at anytime! Is this actually legal?!! How long before a chump landlord thinks of installing a cabin bed above the bath?! :o

Gotta be a joke ... either someone trying to see if anyone stupid enough to rent it, or someone making a point about housing problem.

Always wanted a solution to midnight snack without falling down the stairs

Add a shower curtain arrangement for a bit of privacy

This has been going on for years. Saw a similar example in a shared house over Walthamstow way in 1999. A bed next to a washing machine which seemed to run 24 hrs/day due to numbers of house occupants. Every room had two or three occupants. The rent was about £50/week though - all bills included. House full of South Africans and Australians obviously looking for the cheapest place to live.

At least its only a single bed, unlikely to be 'in action' when interrupted by a housemate wanting a midnight twirl from the fridge.

However, if they are 'dealing with' a bit of morning glory whilst the other occupants want a cup of tea, does etiquette dictate they also make another cup for the kitchen-dweller 'for when you've finished'?
