* The mix-adjusted average house price in the UK in October 2005 stood at £186,103, down slightly from £186,755 in September 2005 (not seasonally adjusted).

* UK annual house price inflation in October 2005 was 2.2 per cent, down from 3.3 per cent in September 2005. Annual house price inflation in London was -0.2 per cent in October 2005, down from 1.9 per cent in September 2005.

* The UK annual house price inflation rate for the 3 months to October 2005 was 2.8 per cent and 0.8 per cent in London.
