Considering how 2010-2013 went with stagnation due to austerity, can Osbooune even cut spending without a repeat of last time?

You can't cut unless there are other income alternatives are made available...such a real regular stable long-term jobs.......unless prepared to go greek......having said that any cuts in housing benefits has to be a good thing, and one of the things that should help in the stabilisation of rapid HPI for investment purposes only. ;)

Not at all, you just have to allow defaults to happen. Which the Germans wont allow.

He wont cut landlord subsidy (housing benefit) to any great degree. Just things like banning the young from claiming.

He won't cut anywhere near what he has claimed as it would kill the economy. He will heavily cut essential things working people want like transport and the police.

I think Osborne has learnt he can't cut without choking off growth.

They might F over the young, but I would expect that to have other (expensive) consequences.

Taking £70 single room benefit from a load of kids is great, just as long as less than 10% of those don't then do something criminal to compensate or (worse, for both them and UK finances) go to prison.

..stagnation ..?...compared to the rest of Europe...? ..I don't think so....and you do have to live within your means ...that is hardly austerity... a word used by the feckless....
