XswampyX
Watching this is like picking at a scab, you know it's not good for you but you can't help it! Within 6 months nobody will know the difference who's 'in power', they all get re-programmed anyway, as soon as they get into office.

White Craw
I could not believe just how disconnected Kinnock is with reality. I think that they run on a sort of auto pilot saying certain things without thought, a bit like driving on a long journey. When actually confronted with the truth, they cannot recognise it. Milliband is toast now, as is Nick Clegg. Saw the Kinnock piece and agree with all that!
Byron
Just saw another motor mouth Labourite. Andrew Marr said in effect is it time for Milliband to go? Super speaker replied 'Ed has exceeded all expectations,' he was interrupted in this extraordinary claim to the effect that M has taken a nose dive, Labourite not having any of it quoting minute swings in a few Northern constituencies. Why can't these people recognise and speak the truth? I would actually vote for someone who said, 'It's been awful, we are not wanted by the British people, we must change ourselves or continue on the road to oblivion.' XswampyX
It's spin, political spin.... or blatant lies, as I like to call it. Vote for me, my lies are bigger and more outrageous than anybody else's! I won't change or do anything different, but you will believe me when I lie to you later and say 'I tried my best!'.
DTMark
That's not really the way that politics works over here, though, is it. They f*** things up and then end up being pushed out, and have to wait a decade or so for the people to forget (not necessarily forgive) so as to make them potential candidates again. We don't vote anyone in, we just vote people out.

Had to switch over for him, too - can't stand his voice, let alone his opinions.

DTMark
Right, that's enough - I'm off to bed now. A couple of vodka and cokes have seen to that. I shall awake to find those ethereal things called "the markets" are spooked by the probably predictable result.
Byron
Outside of Scotland it looks as though the matter of a Euro referendum has been important. Milliband and Clegg probably made the biggest goof up of their political careers by refusing to countenance one, and making themselves look prepared to ignore the people. Now they pay the price for arrogance. Good riddance to them. UKIP have picked up a lot of votes, but the Tories can guarantee such a referendum. The Generation Game
So everybody getting spanked up in Scotland. Lib Dems getting spanked everywhere (HPC will have to find an alternative Vince to rant about). Clegg had enough support to hang on. UKIP are going to have no say. Boris in. Hopefully we can still have a Portillo moment with Balls being given his marching orders. I wish the SNP were in the north.

19 year mortgage 8itch
I had to switch over before they wheeled Kinnock out. I have a delicate stomach. Shall be up for a few hours yet - plenty of coffee and a slice or two of toast and Marmite. Or maybe I'll go mad and make it blackcurrant jam. Mr B has gone to bed. I said go on then, you boring old bugger. There is some blonde Yank-sounding woman on ATM who sounds just like the cupcake queen on Ballot Monkeys. People like you who bottled it and still voted Tory. *contemporary cultural reference alert* Little people in little houses Like maggots small blind and worthless The massacred innocent blood stains us all Who's responsible - you ******ing are Who's responsible - you ******ing are Who's responsible - you ******ing are Who's responsible - you ******ing are Who's responsible

richc
I was hoping to make it to the point where they announce that Ed Balls had lost his seat, but I've got to go to sleep now (though it helps to follow the UK election if you happen to be travelling in the US at the time). Unfortunately, the intervening 5 years have stolen any pleasure I might once have had in witnessing the glorious moment. Goodbye Ed, we never liked you. Good riddance. Alberta Tatlock
Living in a time zone 7 hours behind BST makes for a decent evening's entertainment on U.K. Election night. However the recount in Leeds meant 'I wasn't up for Balls', which was a shame. But there's always YouTube when you need to recap. Great moment that one.
