There are shops that will do it but what you would need is...

A video out source S-Video probably, if you can plug the video recorder into the tv then chances are its got it. Then you need a video capture card, if you have a posh laptop then you might have it built in,or a high spec graphics card on a normal pc sometimes has them, you can buy a video capture card for around 30 quid then you plug your video recorder into you capture card then use the software you get with the capture card to record it to <whatever format> then you burn it to a cd.

well thats how i would do it anyways :)

If you still have the camera then a video grabber (either external box which is USB/USB2 based nowadays or a PCI plug-invideo capture card) - you should have either S-Video or normal Red/Yellow/White cable which will plug into the camcorder and straight into the back of the capture card. Should end up with an MPEG file which can then be emailed/written to VCD / DVD whatever. If you don't want to buy the kit maybe a friend has the ncessary kit, if not there is probably somebody that does it locally for a fee.

Cheap skates tip.......

Buy the kit you need off ebay, use it, and sell it again in a week :P

This worked for me when I transfered all my dad's old 35mm slides using a special slide scanner, I even made a profit cos I sold it back when there were no other similar items listed, and I wrote a better description which goes a long way on ebay

Am I missing something here?

FP when you bought the video camera you should have got simple software that could either be JVC's own or Powersuite. There is loads of free software out-there.

If the Camera is any good it should have a firewire port, or a USB port, but USB is not as fast as Firewire. When the software is loaded - simple plug the firewire cable to the camera and the PC and then switch the power on. The software with then recognise it as a device and you should be able to see a VIRTUAL control on the PC - you can now control the camera via the PC. Needs windows drivers that are installed with the software so plugging the camera straight into windows would not be recognised.

Simple start and capture. Really is that simple.

Powersuite, POwercapture there is loads of free software. Pick up PC Pro or many PC mags and its given away free.

Goodluck

Hope you've asked your wife/girlfriends permission to distribute your Home Made Porn :)

There is no reason for the moderators to remove your thread. I've started threads that are way way way more off topic than this, if it's possible.

The idea of a forum is to ask for advice. If you've used this forum for a long time then at least you can trust the members you know quite well.

Lets hope the advice is ok and that you don't blow up your mini video player or wipe the footage off
