Get Paid To Open A Gate

Recommended Posts

Currently unemployed me, reads about this

whereby my council (who bang the drum all the time about how they need to save £70million) seem to have been in a contract with "who knows" for £36000 PER YEAR to open a gate, once a day, and then close the same gate, once a day.

They only noticed it was a bit high when they decided to cancel the service and keep the gate closed, and residents protested. They are now going to open and close the gate themselves.

A rocket scientist was overheard "

Council leader Cllr Jas Athwal (Lab, Mayfield) told the Recorder that while the current contract to open and close the traffic gates was £36,000 a year, the fee that went to gates’ staff was merely £2,000.

The council could save £34,000 and keep the gates open by changing the contract."

Thats how you can afford a house, you get this job....
