Zoopla Or Rightmove

Recommended Posts

Why do people use Zoopla? it just seems virtually identical to Rightmove, has fewer listings, and (by me anyway) the pictures load slower.

I like the 'most reduced' feature on zoopla. Maybe Rightmove has the same, but I haven't been able to find it.

Zoopla also lets you search for a keyword. Here's a tip - I've found that if your looking for a house that is in need of modernisation, search for 'need' gives good results. Using 'renovation' or 'modernisation' tends to give properties that have recently been renovated, but pretty much only those that are in need of it use the word 'need' in the description.

Good little tip there! I didn't even know that you could search with a key word on Zoopla.

On the whole I perfer Zoopla but yes there is less on there.

Thanks, the stats and the reductions are intersting. The hot map of local prices seems to be exactly what I need (and means I have been wasting hours on rightmove calculating average prices recently). Not quite sure how reasonable it is though, zoomed in on London, and plenty of areas marked blue alhough they are all increasing.

I've just discovered this addon to get price history & discounts, its... property-bee.com for those that don't know.

Anyway will come in handy when the property deluge/crash gets under way... :D

more info about this addon here: moneysavingexpert.com/mortgages/free-house-prices TIP# 11
