Labour Manifesto Commits To Hpi

Recommended Posts

Did anyone notice the big commitment to HPI in today's manifesto news?

They didn't call it that, of course. But the big headline was a commitment to reduce the deficit (as a proportion of GDP) each year, and stop the growth of the national debt (as a proportion of GDP). The way to do that must be to grow GDP. We all know the Blair/Brown/Osborne/Balls formula for that: the gap is far too big to close by growing the productive economy without serious austerity measures, so it's HPI all the way.

I have no doubt we'll get a similar commitment from the Tories.
