Man Seeks To Build A 114 Car Garage For His House...

Sheikh to build six-storey car park in London for his 114 luxury cars and five-star accommodation for chauffeurs and staff
article-3025200-2744A53500000578-711_636

Billionaire emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wants to build a car park big enough to house his 114 cars by Battersea heliport on the Thames. Neighbours are worried their road will be spoilt by the estimated 120 cars arriving and departing each day.

All in it together! Naturally if you had 114 cars you'd want to park them under your house in a purpose built garage.

people in the uk going hungry, struggling to feed kids, terrible career prospects, etc etc

UK in more debt to gdp than the weimer republic

and the elites build garages like this and our politicians will let them.

History tells us how this will end.

This is pretty idiotic. I bet he almost never even looks at them never mind drives them. He just stores them and forgets. I wonder how many days a year he is even in the UK for. What a waste of resources.

Dont worry, Sheikh mohammed has caught the NIMBY bug for everyone else.

Of course, he owns several mansions in the area, thousands of acres of land, spends only a few days a year in them, and has no problem getting permission to build stuff for horses to live in. Local people, thats another matter.

More money than sense as they say - or at least they used to.

It looks about the size of a small hospital.

The good sheikh has good taste, he opposes houses for the plebs because they might ruin 'historic' newmarket (Newmarket aint very historic, mostly ugly 60s stuff on) Only about a dozen buildings pre-dating victorian times remain.

Here's his Newmarket gaff sitting prominently on top of a hill overlooking the town. Been likened to a prison...so I guess hospital is the next step.

Maybe it's really a bunker of some sort and just being called a car park.

I mean to say 2 storeys underground (from the cross section) and 114 cars?

Not a good sign perhaps. Maybe his neighbours have more to worry about than a few cars.

These dictators are all aware that one day their subjects might rise up to overthrow them. They are building these palaces in London as boltholes for when that day comes.

We must export some more poor English people out of London so that we can make room for the Arabs to store their cars.

I was discussing the forthcoming election with my parents yesterday and despite divergent political views, we are agreed that it is starting to feel like we are living in a satire.

So a rich bloke wants to spend obscene amounts of money in London, but to some of you lot that's a bad thing? Would you prefer he keeps it in a chest in his bedroom, occasionally opening it and allowing the treasures to fall between his fingers while he mumbles sweet nothings about how it is all his?

Not that I think he would, but he's pretty much threatened to pull out of newmarket if houses get built for the plebs.

He'll probably bring in his own people to build it anyway...when the Irish got too expensive to work godolphin stables he just got bangladeshis to do it for less..

the area is surrounded by expensive ugly appartments, behind that are a couple retail parks, and some garages selling high end cars. It is next to battersea heliport. and a busy road.the neighbours are worried about traffic from 120 cars.

why buy next to a heliport. some people really.
