Prices Dropping - Annecdotal

Recommended Posts

Guest

I've agreed to sell a bungalow for £315k (asking price was £325k), but the buyer was struggling to sell either of their two bungalows. After threatening to put mine back on the market, they have dropped their asking prices by £10k. The EA who told me described that as the "right thing to do".... maybe the message is getting through. (I did say in my email to the EA that in a market falling since August, I do not want to chase it down to the bottom).

This is your Charmouth surplus bungalow?

Not sure a 10k asking price will help them at the mo.

You might have been better at setting a calendar deadline.

You are hardly trying. A £10k drop on prices that have been artificially bumped up 20% in 18 months.

Your anecdote tells me 2 things.

a) Your potential buyers are struggling to buy because of the price

B) You dont know what the anecdotals thread is for.

If they put in a lower offer i would accept it .... and yes I know the annecdotal forum is for annecdotes, but nobody ever looks there! :)

I thought on a previous thread you were renting a shabby 3 bedder and the LL was putting your rent up?

I am .... the bungalow is part of an estate I am executor for.
