TV presenter Dan Snow has lost a battle to tear down an orangery in the grounds of his £7million country mansion and build a two-storey office in its place

The couple bought the four-bedroom house in Exbury, Hampshire, from convicted mercenary Simon Mann for a reported £10million in 2009.

I know Exbury - it is the home of the elite, and the Rothschild rhododendrons garden. There is an unwritten rule of NO development there, because the neighbours are also of the elite status. And I don't care who your dad is (for both of them).

why is that house worth so much. or is that the orangery.

Ah, if you get a chance to visit, you should - it is a trip back in time to a place well off the beaten track. The whole area is protect under the New Forest, and neighbors the Beaulieu estate. I had a look at a 2 bed terrace there in the past, you don't get much change from £400K.
