Want A Career In Hollywood? Buy Yourself An Internship With Harvey Weinstein's Firm For £16,000

Recommended Posts

Hollywood is arguably never going to diversify while internships sell for tens of thousands of dollars.

The company behind The Imitation Game is auctioning a three month-long unpaid placement with bidding currently at more than £16,000 ($25,000).

The Weinstein Company, which is owned by multimillionaire mogul Harvey Weinstein, donated the internship to charity via controversial New York auction company Charity Buzz.

Bidding ends tomorrow on the “lot” which lists the opportunity as having an “estimated value” of £30,000 ($50,000) and claims the winning intern will “learn all the ins and outs of the movie business”.

Someone has already demonstrated they are prepared to pay more than £5,000 a month for the privilege of working for nothing at the Hollywood company.

Incredible, only the rich need to apply!

We're all 17 year old mid-western starlets now, gagging on a stinky 50 year olds cck.

Only now we're expected to pay for the privilege.

Still it's a natural reaction to market demand. I suspect at least 50% of teenagers want to work in entertainment in one form or another.
