Richmond is just crazy, isn't it? £1.3m for that townhouse and it isn't even in a particularly nice part of town!

yep

not all that great there anyway , good if you like low flying planes

1.3m and its of the main road  nutts , even the 800k paid is nuts to me

Strange that this sold for £430k in 2013 according to the ad. Unless it is another Zoopla error, I wonder if it was bought, re-converted into two flats and then sold on. Another one described as 'newly-converted' sold in the same block for £437k last year, so it looks as though they are trying to make quite a lot of money.

The problem is that the other one was 620sqft and split level so £437k isn't that bad for Richmond. This one is only 300 sqft and thst seems quite a lot more expensive for what it is.

My intitial optimism at the price drop has waned, and you're right that there's more to this. The road is Grena Road, Sheen, Richmond although it's on the corner so the flat is on the A305 Sheen Road. In which case there was a sale of a 2 bed flat for £430k. As this is now being sold as a one bed flat, then there's been some conversion work and the usual flipping/fat profit.

We actually looked at that house a while ago, has been on the market on and off. It's actually quite cheap compared to similar houses in the area, it's a nice house but has a big caveat: It's backing straight into a big Greggs factory, and quite noisy at night. I'm surprised it sold at all for any price, really.

surprised they managed to fit 3 beds in a 1000sqft house really

600k is not going to buy much in one of the most expensive areas in the uk sadly .
