"Figures suggest" - who's figures ? .... "according to figures from the Mortgage Advice Bureau." - Ahhhhhh. GO figure. How much has FLS/HTB1/HTB2/2000-2007 debt fraud, actually cost buyers? billybong
Stamp Duty Changes 'Saving Buyers £1,300' Not really because sellers have just bumped up prices x10 because of it.

TheCountOfNowhere
Someone gets it... "What does one have to do to get a comment posting on here pointing out that the government has cost buyes 10's of 1000's of pounds with their tax payer backed HTB1/HTB2/FLS and the worst of all BTL schemes ? All of which do nothing to help affordability and everything to prop up prices and keep the rich rich.. Why would the 2nd london ( tax payer funded ) home owning MPs not do anything to stop a massive price bubble in london housing ? We have a government using tax payers money to make the rich richer and make the poor pay more for basic shelter. Shameful and quite possibly corrupt." TheCountOfNowhere
It's a great comment! It gets better worse. "Mean while, back on planet earth, the reality remains. I bought my son his first property last year, i'll not quote what the SD was, but it was significant. Check this out for yourself, pen & paper handy, you'll pay 102.4% tax during your entire life, that does include your exit also. You are taxed left, right & centre & then even more. The UK has now, seriously, reached it's tax maximum ceiling and it is going to suffer for this." His planet earth is different from the 99%-ers !!!! tinker
The old 'saving money' argument because we are not taking so much off you. As good as the held back tax rise that saves you money (petrol tax for example).
