North South Divide

Recommended Posts

Interesting article,

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/divided-uk-for-every-12-jobs-created-in-the-south-one-is-lost-in-the-north-9986656.html

But I guess it's a bit simplistic and obscures some significant local variations. After all, most of the Medway towns still look like Beirut where as I visited Manchester recently where I'd lived as a kid, I was expecting the same grim city I remembered but it was absolutely drop dead gorgeous.

Not kidding!

Hardly North South Divide - the Midlands has a much larger population of deprivation than the North (England not Uk) and this constant North South talk is why the Midlands suffers such a lack of funding.

Edit: Population not land.

More room for improvement up North.....and the people on the whole are down to earth honest, caring and decent...no airs and graces, lots of snobs in some places. ;)
