Mobile Phones And Blocking Stolen Ones

Recommended Posts

Anyone on here been unfortunate to have their phone nicked? The other half has it taken from the house, we suspect by a "mate" of one of the kids, turned the house upside down looking for it and can't find it. It's switched off so won't ring. I had hoped we'd find it to avoid accusing anyone but I don't think we are going to find it.

Anyone ever got it backed? We know the IMEI number, but looking on the web it appears that this can be changed if you root the phone.

How much you can you get out of a stolen phone if the IMEI number is blocked, I'm guessing selling it on to a reputable dealer it would immediately get flagged up?
