Bbc Two To Meet The Super Rich

Recommended Posts

Anyone see the advert for this? Something very cynical and devious about it I feel.

Never before has money been so polarised in Britain. The richest 85 people now own more than half the UK population. The rise of the Super Rich has meant that wealth in the UK is dividing our society at an extraordinary rate - but how and why did it happen? In this two-part series, Jacques Peretti explores how the Super Rich are transforming the very fabric of British society. Why have the Super Rich flocked to Britain, and why does it matter to us?

Yes. What a conundrum. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

This might sound like a conspiracy theory, but as it was Christmas, and we sat down to watch Cars 2 with the kids.

It had some themes in there like the rich billionaires in Monaco, and Oil cartels, with the billionaire oil baddie (which was a Range Rover car) in London manipulating the oil price with Alinol alternative fuels, so it crashes to maintain his monopoly and world domination. The baddie car was with the other VIP cars and other elites.

Nothing would surprise me any more, frankly!

Did anyone watch this last night? It was quite interesting but they didn't focus much on the money side, bizarrely. They were quite coy about that apart from initially saying how much money the people they had were interviewing.

I did like the model Katia Elizarova, she was very nice!

Tonight's show in this series is about Richard Branson's Necker Island.

It was fascinating from a Russian cultural perspective. Didn't really have much to do with money, apart from their (obvious) fear of loss due to Russian history and current Russian dictator and a couple of vignettes about buying expensive jewellery

Found it rather sweet actually and the people intelligent, warm, charming, thoughtful and likeable. Quite a contrast to many notable Brit super rich who are generally unintelligent, cold, sneering, obnoxious tw@ts.

I have noticed recently no end of programs about how great the rich are. "Look at us, we're young and rich and live in Chelsea, we are lovely.". "Look at us, we're from the US and have a rich banker husband, we are lovely.". "Look at us, dont hang us from lamp posts when you are starving, we are lovely.".

That sort of thing.

Very odd programming,
