West Midlands Police Warned Over Threat To Kill Officer

Recommended Posts

A threat to kidnap and murder a serving West Midlands police officer led to a security alert being issued to staff, the BBC understands.

Staff were briefed on Monday after the force received an anonymous call.

Officers have been urged to take extra precautions, including not wearing uniform during journeys to work.

Assistant Chief Constable Garry Forsyth said the force was taking the threat "extremely seriously", but that there was no increased risk to the public.

The force said it had "implemented additional security measures" after obtaining the information.

Officers were held on duty while they were given the security reminder as they started their shifts.

'No overreaction'

In October, the threat level to police officers across Britain was raised to substantial.

The national security level remains at severe, signifying a terrorist attack is highly likely.

Is this a terrorist threat or a criminal gang wanting to make a point?

West Midlands Police are like South Yorkshire police for their level of uselessness, corruption and brutality.

This could just be somebody that they have framed for a crime wanting revenge.
