Autumn Statement 2014 Thread

Nick Dakin asked a similar question just now about not reducing the deficit or immingration. Good answer from Cameron that they inherited it from Labour.

I wonder if, presuming they got in at the GE, Labour could look to do what we all thought the Tories would do and take the pain at the start of their term and blame the Tories. I doubt it but it is one strategy.

He seems to be making up a lot of stuff, twisting statistics and desperately seeking silver linings. No change there then.

"Borrowing is falling".

Not according to the OBR chart for net borrowing to date so far this year earlier in this thread.

Just like inflation. 'Tis the season to be jolly.
