Guardian Expects Stamp Duty And Inheritance Tax Threshold Changes

Recommended Posts

I'd be surprised if those were the only measures taken to prop up HPI.

Just had a brilliant idea, why not make housing affordable?

If we move to the Scottish system depending on the actual levels it would be fairer. (Scotland used their average house price to determine then thresholds at which the tax increased, perhaps the uk should have regional, or London & the rest rates)

However as someone trying to but at around 250k, the current setup was hopefully going to enable us to get a house priced higher (260k-300k) for the 250k. So selfishly this could affect the level of house we can afford.

Osborne is trying to make the best of financial circumstances very much not of his own choosing.

Yet another Chancellor in a long line of Chancellors not to blame for the mess they've created.

Growth and the deficit

On the face of it, economic conditions could hardly be better for the chancellor.

Delusion and then again trying to make it sound like he's been just a bystander in it all.

Funny how the Grauniad are prepared to cut a Tory chancellor some slack when house prices are at stake.

Absolute *****.

+1

and when push comes to shove the guardian is just as in favour of the incumbent government as the rest - although not so overtly as some.
