Every website except the land registry is well out of date.

I know it's only £2 but begrudge paying it when it's free everywhere else, and it's only the fact no one else is up to date!

Yes, I have noticed some inconsistencies too. Places like www.houseprices.co.uk sometimes only get prices 6 months later. No big deal, but as you say, if you are that desperate, pay the 2 quid.

Houseprices.co.uk does have some nifty stuff though - like a link to google maps show you prices of houses in a particular area. Very nifty indeed.
