"The Met is reviewing "allegations of unlawful claiming of allowances" after Lord Hanningfield wrongly claimed £3,300."

If guilty he should be made an example of, 20 years in prison for stealing from everyone.

What is the point of spending out on a police investigation if it does nothing to deter thievery. The wrong doing in the upper house has continued.

The only way to stop this is any sign of fraud should result in a custodial sentence.

The only way to stop this is any sign of fraud should result in a custodial sentence hanging.

Stealing from the public is the worse theft of all.

Put them on an hourly wage and give them a time card :)

Sounds about as productive as Microsoft paying per line of code.... but if it keeps the proles happy.

Someone suggested replacing the House of Lords with an public online voting system. Sounds good to me.

Nah, that sounds too much like a proper 'check and balance', too close to democracy, and therefore not possible in this country.

I think they should replace the house of commons with a forum like this. Main section of the forum only MP's can post on but we can give thumbs up or down and another bit for us plebs.
