I have changed one word in your statement above and I think you probably have to agree it could be used interchangeably. Not at all. The local populace freely choose to remain a British overseas territory, in preference to being part of Argentina. They get an amazingly good deal, I wish Surrey County Council get their sh*t together and dig a salt water trench around the county then move for a similar accomodation.
