Empty House Listings.

Recommended Posts

I am seeing more and or "empty" houses being listed/price drops, e.g.:

Just from today from about 12 listings ( NN1 + 10 miles last 24 hours) I get these:

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32166672.html

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-46810216.html

The last one just sell through and they've put the asking price up:

16/11/2014
Price changed: from '£180,000' to '£188,000'
Status changed: from 'Sold STC' to 'null'
HM is the one estate agent I personally would never use in Northants ( also known as the Nottingham building society's 2nd hand house sellers ).
Call me cynical but if you were a sham banker holding company would you not be drip feeding empty properties onto the market right about now....

Why wouldn't they! Prices only ever go up and they don't want to give it away! :P

(My parents have their house up for sell, E17, one viewing in 2 weeks and he use the dreaded expression 'I don't want to give it away' to me yesterday!)

Hmm one viewing in two weeks is quite poor.

We have been looking at houses recently and managed to book in 10 on both Saturdays. A couple of the houses we didn't want to view, but the agents insisted since it's on the way. The have some kind of moral obligation to get a few viewings even if the viewers are't interested.

If your parents can open the front door themselves. then I would recommend using hatched to sell through as it only costs £500 agents fees all in. They will also get direct feedback from the viewers like overpriced, could do with decorating, etc. They can then get good feedback to see if the price is about right.

My God, are they mad? E17 is THE place to be in London.
